MONDAY { 09/02 }

It is the submission for the shophouse panels and the intech mock up component.

Today is the last lecture of first year.

Some dry theories about forms and space first and after that is hands on activity.

We are told to take 1 big piece of paper and 5 smaller pieces of paper, we cut and fold and forms and space are created.

We stick the forms together to form space.

The space i created is for art gallery or museum.

This was much more calm and the curves goes in the same direction.

3rd attempt in doing the moodbox.

This time i am inspired by The Starry Night painted by van Gogh.

The curves he use and the brushstrokes.

However after the consultation, i am told that the curves are too wild, have to calm down.

So i have to do another mood box, but i can start now with my shophouse shell.

WEDNESDAY { 31/12 }

After consulting about the moodbox, i have to redo another one as my moodbox concept is like scattered, 1 side of the box is texture another side is colours. So i will have to tie all the concepts together. This is the 2nd attempt of constructing the moodbox.
The curves indicate the movement, and also i paint it with bright colours.


MONDAY { 05/01 }
There's an interim submission today, we have to pass up our moodbox, concepts for the shophouse and case study component. The lecturers will review our work and then on wednesday will consult the lecturers again.

First we have to construct a moodbox on the concept of our cilent.
For Vincent van Gogh, the 3 principles are, texture, colours and movement.
During the first attempt i tried to combine all the 3 components together.

and below is the mood box i constructed during my first attempt. (:

When school reopen we will have to consult our lecturers.

After the submission, there is a new project for us!

We will have to prepare during the holidays and all the way to term4 next year.

It is somehow a continuation of the assignments we done this term.

We will have to design a space in the shophouse for the cilent (Vincent van Gogh) we research on. And the shophouse is the one we measure weeks ago.

Its submission day today!

Today we have to pass up the machines, panels, CADP drawings of machine and TOD art loves design panel.

We research on the bugs, insects for our concept of the machine.
Finally we decide on using the scorpion as the concept of our machine.
We reduce the sense of sight and enhance on sense of touch.
We start to construct the machine and indeed it look like a scorpion.
After the machine is constructed, i wore the machine and experience the space.
We chose the space to be near the foodcourt 2 there, as there have trees, bushes and waterfalls.
Took some pictures there and finally, we have to do a short writeup on the machines we constructed.

After 1 week of brainstorming and the construction of mockup, we came up with the idea of the person sitting under a waterfall with the 'raincoat' wore on.

Today also having critiques on the machines we did. Too bad we have to change our concept on the machine.

After all the measurements taken, we meet up as a group to discuss on the shophouse thinggy,

Then we proceed to start on the shophouse drawings with measurements. After that, we transfer the drawings into autocad and start our construction drawings.

Wednesday { 05/11 }

We are given an assignment which consist of design studio and CADP. We have to measure the shophouse that we are given. The shophouse we have to measure is the shophouse with airwell, no rear and front court. Today we went to Haji Lane and chinatown to look for the shophouse we are looking for. Finally we found the shophouse and started measuring so that we can draw the shophouse in autocad.

We have complete all the 32 human figure drawings and staircase drawings.
Now we have to draw the relationship between the human and the furniture around us.

We have to draw 16 human figures too. It can be sitting on sofa or opening the doors of cabinet.

We are required to take 4 sequential photos of us doing a particular thing, or activity.

Total there's 10 activities we are required to do. That adds up to 40 photos.

After taking the pictures, we are to layout the pictures neatly in 2 A1 size panels to show the relationship between us and the furniture.

FRIDAY { 24/10 }

After drawing the 32 human figures, we proceed to draw the different types of staircase.
we have to measure the thread and riser accurately to process the drawings.
Also, human figures are added to show the scale and proportion.
